A wedding in the Italian countryside was never on my bucket list, but it should have been. Lorenzo and Elena’s wedding was one of the most beautiful nights of my life and it was an honor to shoot their important day. Elena is so beautiful and such a free spirit, which I adored. The way Lorenzo looks at her is absolute life goals. The rolling hills of Quattro Castello, beautiful people, a vintage car, torta fritta, and other amazing Italian food made this wedding so chic and fun. Grazie mille, Elena and Lorenzo, for letting me be a part of this night. I’ll never forget it. <3 ---Full gallery here.
I never thought I would be photographing a Dutch wedding on a beach in Castricum, Netherlands, but that's where I found myself on June 8th. Photographer Kyle Hepp recommended I reach out to Sjoerd Booij while in Europe to see about a mentor session to improve my skills and to shoot a wedding with him. What resulted was the greatest experience!
Grief has been an all too common pattern in my life. I've seen far too many friends and family members pass before they should have. I think that's why I became fascinated with a camera by 15 and it only snowballed more and more with the years.
Grief makes you hyper sensitive. It's a process that always makes time feel slower, makes human touch more sensitive, the light and the environment around you feel like a movie. You move slower, you experience slower, you walk outside and it's as if you are hearing birds for the first time- it's as if you're in a hypersensitive tunnel that defies space and time. It's trippier and more mind expanding than any drug while simultaneously being the most sober state of your life. It is because of these experiences that I believe I am a highly sensitive and that these experiences have made me passionate about being a photographer, in tune with moments that matter.
I was very fortunate to meet Lindsay when I first moved to Charlotte from NYC. A smart couple with a love for cats, gardening, and music, they are just about as perfect of a match as you can find. We went to the fields around Charlotte to capture their earthy love for nature and had an absolute blast.
